Covid-19 Vaccination Programme - 01/06/21

Currently the NHS is vaccinating selected groups of patients. Due to the limited number of vaccines and complications surrounding the pandemic, we are prioritising patients to be vaccinated in cohorts. Please do not contact the surgery and request the vaccine. When you are due for the vaccine, you will be contacted. 

 

We are currently triaging all appointments at Fernlea Surgery - 01/01/21

All appointments will be dealt with by a GP through a telephone consultation triage and if necessary, you will be asked to come in. Please call 0208 809 6445 for further information.

If you have a new continuous cough, high temperature or a loss or change to sense of taste or smell:

  • Book a COVID-19 Test via the https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
  • If results is positive - Stay at home and do not leave your house for 10 days from when your symptoms started
  • If you live with others and are the first in the household to have symptoms then you must stay at home for 10 days and all other household members who remain well must stay at home and not leave the house for 10 days.
  • You do not need to call 111 to inform them and testing is not necessary if you are staying home. 
  • or go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. 
  • If you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, or your condition gets worse, or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days, then use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service. If you do not have internet access, call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999

Paracetamol and Ibuprofen Requests - 01/01/19

NHS England will be introducing new guidelines for prescribing simple medicines that can be purchased over the counter.

In line with this NHS guidance we will NO longer be issuing repeat prescriptions of:- Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and various over the counter medications. 

In an emergency setting a prescription for one of the above can be issued for a maximum of 1-2 weeks.

Clinical discretion will be applied for certain conditions eg. Inflammatory arthritis.
