Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
- Insurance claim forms
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
- Private sick notes
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability. Once the work has been completed for the private request, it will become non-refundable, regardless of the outcome.
Before any documentation or reports are sent off, patients have the right to view these reports, and decide whether it should still be sent or not. It is important to consider the facts in the report, and whether this supports your request. We are legally obliged to include any relevant information, but patients can request for the whole report not to be sent. However, in these cases a fee is still required as the private work was to complete the report, regardless of it being used or what the outcome may be. Please request the administrative team to send reports to you prior to being sent to any private service, if this not requested, it will be assumed appropriate to send to the service.
Exclusions:
Please note it is our policy that the following requests cannot be completed:
- Housing Letter requests
- Firearms Requests
