In collaboration with Welbourne PCN (our group of local GPs), Fernlea offers a variety of enhanced access options, that enable patients the opportunity of clinical appointments outside of normal hours. These are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays,via the Welbourne GP surgery. Both Nursing and GP appointments are available from this service, which can be directly booked by Fernlea.
Nursing appointments include:
- Dressings
- Smears
- Immunisations
- Injections
- Other general nursing queries
GP appointments include:
- Telephone clinics
- Face-to-face clinics

Our aim is to provide patients the opportunity to book appointments outside of working hours, and as such gain an access to healthcare that they may not have had previously. Availability for these slots are enabled a week or two prior, and on rare occasions on the day before the appointment.
Welbourne GP surgery is located on the corner of the Monument Way and Down Lane Park. It is a modern and fit for purpose building designed especially to enable a collaborative approach to healthcare for all practices within the Welbourne PCN.
On-top of these options, Fernlea has enhanced access sessions running from 07:00-08:00am or 18:30-19:30pm. These session are mainly to provide remote or telephone advice, but in rare occasions can be for other means.
