What is it?
Patient Participation Groups (PPG) are an opportunity for us to engage with our local community, enabling patients to share their views and issues with the practice. We meet throughout the year, both in person and virtually via teams. Generally, discussions are for non-clinical topics, centering more on models / processes and how the practice is working as a whole.
When and where is it?
For 2025 our PPG meetings, baring any emergencies, will be running on the following dates:
- Wednesday 19th of March 2025 at 12:00.
- Tuesday 8th of July 2025 at 13:00.
- Thursday 6th of November 2025 at 13:30.
Meetings are held within the practice, in one of our clinical rooms. However, due to the capacity at Fernlea Surgery, there is a limited amount of space for in person meetings, as such we do encourage patients to attend virtually where possible. A regular Microsoft teams calendar meeting will be arranged and invitations to these can be shared upon request by the administrative team.
Who is it for?
All patients are welcome at our PPG. We’re particularly looking for patients aged 40 and under and also those from ethnic minorities. It does not matter if you have just registered with us, or have been a patient for many years, your input will be invaluable to our service.
The group is not open as a walk-in, in order to join, you must indicate to the practice, prior to the meeting, that you would like to participate.
